National kept in loop on finance sector regulation
Finance Minister Michael Cullen this afternoon welcomed National Party Leader John Key's reassertion of his party's support for a fundamentally bipartisan approach to finance sector regulation in New Zealand.
"I have already had discussions with National Party Deputy Leader and Finance Spokesperson, Bill English, earlier in the week to make sure that he and his party are up-to-date with developments.
"When I meet Bill English this afternoon, I will give Mr English the latest joint Reserve Bank and Treasury paper that I have received on issues around finance sector regulation going forward," Dr Cullen said.
"I will take full notice of any comments that Bill English may have and I will ensure that he continues to be kept informed of any developments as they occur," Dr Cullen said.
