Green Party Campaign Launch
Celebrity MC to launch new TVC
The Green Party will launch their election campaign at Te Papa, in Wellington on Sunday 1.30pm with their new TV
commercials to be hosted by a surprise celebrity guest.
Conceived by creative agency Special, produced by Sweet Shop and directed by Kezia Barnett, the television ads are a
triumph of kiwi talent.
The commercials will bring to life the central image from the acclaimed Green Party billboards featuring young Green
supporter Ayla and a stunning soundtrack by emerging kiwi musician Jess Chambers, the local hit at this year's WOMAD
festival. Jess Chambers will be playing live at the Campaign Launch.
"Our billboard campaign, which has now been enhanced into television, radio and print, has had tremendous feedback,"
says Green Party Campaign Manager Gary Reese. "Media commentators and ad agency heads have praised them as the most
successful advertising in the election campaign so far. Our supporters are also telling us they sum up exactly why they
vote Green. Their powerful simplicity has struck a chord with voters of all ages, because they tell our story so
effectively - that we are the only Party with a clear vision of how we can all enjoy a better quality of life while
protecting our beautiful planet."
The commercials will be available to watch from the Green Party website from midday Sunday 5th October and will be
screened on TV One, TV 3, Channel 4, Sky, Maori Television and Alt TV from 8th October. A version using a Te Reo segment
of the soundtrack has been specially produced for Maori Television.
