King: National's Maurice Williamson being less than economical with the truth
Transport Minister Annette King says National Party transport spokesman Maurice Williamson is not telling the truth when he says National would not consider a toll of up to $50 a week for commuters on certain new roads
"Mr Williamson, in fact, told the Agenda programme that he did not know anyone that wouldn't pay three-to-five dollars a trip. Five dollars a trip equals $50 for ten commuter trips a week.
"When the interviewer put it to him that this could add up to $50 a week, Mr Williamson said 'yes'.
"That's what the transcript shows, that's what Mr Williamson said, and once again, it proves that National cannot be trusted. They say one thing one day and the opposite the next."
