Transmission Gully – Best news in 15 years says Dunne
The announcement today of a preferred route for the Transmission Gully highway is the best news in 15 years of campaigning for it says veteran TG supporter and Ohariu-Belmont MP Hon Peter Dunne.
“What this means is all the uncertainty is removed. After years of haggling and paper-shuffling, finally a route has been chosen. Transmission Gully is all on.
“Here is a tangible sign of the Government’s commitment to the people of Wellington and Transmission Gully.
“Now, we know TG will happen and we know the route. Next step we need to know is when the highway will be built.
“It’s up to the local mayors and councils to show their support for the future of this region, says Mr Dunne.
