UF announces Mangere candidate
UnitedFuture’s candidate for the hotly-contested Mangere electorate in Auckland at the general election was today named as Pulotu Selio Solomon
Party president Denise Krum, in welcoming the new candidate, said Selio is a former Mangere community board Chairman and manager of the Martin Hautus Pacific Peoples’ Learning Institute.
Pulotu Selio managed the Institute’s first tertiary college in Savai’i, Samoa, and has been a nominee for the Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader’s award.
He is the son of Pulotu Arthur Solomon, retired Manukau City Councillor, a well known Labour activist and former campaign manager for Taito Philip Field.
Selio says that both he and his family are delighted to join in behind UnitedFuture and contest the Mangere electorate.
“The people of Mangere need another option besides the tired policies of Labour and National,” Pulotu Selio said, adding that “UnitedFuture is the only centre party that welcomes multi-ethnic voices and it’s time they were heard.”
Pulotu Selio is married to Linda and has completed 2 years study towards his Master’s degree in education.
