Green Party viral video attracts unlikely fans
A viral video released by the Green Party has received nearly 3000 'hits' in three weeks, one of them from a new subscriber to the Green Party's online channel - 'johnkey2008'.
The video is part of the Green Party's 'Some things are bigger than politics' campaign, and takes a light hearted look at the petty political bickering of the centrist parties by comparing them to Green Party achievements.
"I'm delighted that John Key 2008 is so interested in the Green Party's online presence - perhaps he was checking out our own John Key parody getting friendly with the exclusive brethren," Green Party Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons says.
"I'm sure that John Key 2008, whoever he is, will find our videos entertaining, informative and inspiring.
"The National Party certainly has a lot to learn from the Greens, and I take this new subscription as a sign that while they may not yet be ready to seek out our expertise face to face, they are at least willing to keep up to date with current events such as climate change, through youtube".
The 'Some things are bigger than politics' video has been well received by online viewers, and has even featured on the far-right website 'Kiwi Blog'.
