Action over Grey Base Hospital claims
The Minister of Health David Cunliffe has asked the Director General of Health to report to him urgently on claims about patient safety at Grey Base Hospital on the West Coast.
“I have asked the Director General to provide me with a report on what progress has been made into the Board’s own enquiry into the claims and the process of reporting back “
Associate Minister of Health Damien O’Connor has made me aware of the issues and requested that the Ministry of Health investigate,” said Mr Cunliffe.
“Accordingly I understand that the Chief Medical advisor for the Ministry of Health, Dr David Galler has already begun his own investigation into the matter He has already been in contact with the interested parties and I expect a report in the near future.”
