Enrol To Vote And Have Your Say - NZ First
New Zealand First strongly supports the Electoral Enrolment Centre’s (EEC) enrolment drive which gets underway tomorrow,
and urges Kiwi’s not to miss out on having their say on Election Day.
“Election Day is the chance for New Zealanders to directly influence who runs the country for the next three years, but
they can only do so if enrolled to vote,” said Party leader Rt Hon Winston Peters.
The EEC’s enrolment drive begins on May 5, and will see enrolment update packs sent out by mail.
- If you receive your pack, check that your details are up to date and correct them if necessary.
- If you do not receive a pack by 8 May, then you are not able to vote and will need to enroll – a quick and easy
process.
The EEC also advises that if you have moved house and have not told the EEC, you may be removed from the electoral roll
– meaning your vote will not count. If you think this has happened to you, contact the EEC.
You can contact the EEC to enroll or if you have any questions by:
- Freephoning 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56); or
- Freetexting your name and address to 3676; or
- Going to www.elections.org.nz; or
- Getting an enrolment form from a Postshop or Citizens Advice Bureau
“By enrolling to vote, you have the opportunity to have your voice heard. It’s too important a chance to miss, so make
sure you are enrolled,” said Mr Peters.
