Dunne calls on TV3 to dob in medal thief
UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne today called on TV3 management to do its civic duty and immediately dob in the alleged Waiouru medal thief interviewed on Campbell Live last night.
“All New Zealand was outraged when the medals were stolen and they were further disgusted to learn that criminals were being rewarded with cash and freedom from jail in order to secure the return of the medals,” he said.
“Now we find that one of our major news outlets is prepared to connive and conspire with these lowlifes in order to get a fawning interview, the sole objective of which was to boost the ratings and TV’s commercial revenue.
“This has nothing to do with journalism and everything to do with lowering one’s standards to those of the medal thieves in order to make money.
“TV3 was quick to sneer at the foolish TVNZ executives who paid for Tame Iti and his family to go to Waitangi merely to engender conflict for its programmes, now TV3 is demonstrating the same level of stupidity.
“If TV3 won’t hand over the information to the authorities immediately, the police should raid TV3’s offices and if the channel won’t co-operate, then all those involved should be prepared to go to jail,” said Mr Dunne.
