Its time for National to get some new material
The National Party is so completely out of ideas on health it is left with having to regurgitate the same press release time and again Minister of Health David Cunliffe said.
This is the fifth time they have released a statement on bureaucrats since October.
"This insert date here, approach to health demonstrates the National Party's inability to come up with new ideas," Mr Cunliffe said.
Lets look at the basic facts, in 1999 management and administration (the last year National was in office) staff made up 19 percent of the health workforce.
As of 31 December 2007 management and administration staff still made up 19 percent of health workforce.
"In other words the percentage of people working in administration and management has remained static."
Meanwhile in 1999 the nurses and doctors made up 52 percent of the health workforce. Under this Government the doctors and nurses make up 56 percent of the health work force.
"Under this Government it is the number of front-line health workers that have increased at the greatest rate in the health service."
