Party vote a priority
Green Party Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons says she plans to focus all her efforts on building the party vote at this election.
"We are planning to increase the number of Green MPs in Parliament at the next election, but in order to do that we have to make growing the party vote a priority.
"As Co-Leader, this means I will be out and about visiting all sorts of interesting people and places in the next year, talking to them about Green policies.
"Unfortunately, it will mean I will be away from home a lot, so rather than let the people of Coromandel have an absent candidate I will hand over the reins to someone else," Ms Fitzsimons says.
"We have yet to select the new Coromandel Green candidate, but we are spoilt for choice as we have a number of very capable and strong contenders."
