Do The Greens And Maori Party Support The Rule Of Law Or Not?
The Greens and the Maori Party need to declare up front to all New Zealanders if they support the rule of law or not and
if they also accept the right of the New Zealand Police to go about their duties, said Ron Mark today.
“We have heard some of the most outrageous claims coming from these two parties as they try and out-do each other in the
‘outraged victim’ pecking order,” said Mr Mark.
“What do these parties expect police to do – ignore their intelligence and the anti-social behaviour of these militant
direct-action groups, hoping that they won’t carry through on their threats?
“The Maori Party’s attitude is most disturbing in all this. We expect the weak, guilt-ridden, cringing, liberal Greens
to fawn all over this issue. The Maori Party, if it had any thoughts for its future generations, would be calling for
Maori to rid itself of this subversive and divisive sub-culture – not promote it.
“There is no future in a divided nation – certainly not one trying to achieve its ends by violent means.
“The simple fact is if you don’t want the negative stereotypes, don’t promote violence or subversive behaviour.
“We must all now wait for the Police to make their case in relation to this matter. But they should be congratulated for
taking action where they believe it is warranted, because the consequences of them not doing so are not worth
considering.
“If a few sensitivities get offended, so be it,” concluded Mr Mark.
