Reality show deals with climate change reality
Energy and Climate Change Minister David Parker has welcomed a new reality show which gives New Zealanders hints on how
to improve their carbon footprint and make their households more efficient.
WA$TED!, which was supported by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority, visits a different household each week
targeting energy efficiency, water use, transport choices, rubbish and recycling.
‘Climate change is an accepted reality and there are millions of Kiwis who want to know what they, as individuals, can
do about it, said David Parker.
"It's great to see a mainstream TV show looking at how we can all make small changes to our lifestyles, to lessen our
impact on the environment.
"It also shows that some of the actions we take to tackle climate change have other benefits, like saving us money."
WA$TED! airs on TV3, every Tuesday 8pm for ten weeks starting 20 February.
