Today's the day Minister, so where's the report?
National's Law & Order spokesperson Simon Power is calling on the Minister of Corrections to front-up to the Ashley family and release the report, due today, into the death of their son while in his department's care.
"I am appalled at the way the Ashley family has been treated by Corrections.
"Initially, they were told that the investigation into Liam's tragic death on 24 August would take two months.
"Then they were told that the investigation would be delayed until 30 November - today.
"Now they find out the report has still not been completed - not from the chief executive of Corrections, but from a media agency.
"Why are there continual delays in completing the investigation, particularly since the killer has already pleaded guilty?
"It's time for the Minister to show some leadership over this issue," says Mr Power.
