Greens, Act Co-Host Public meeting on Stadium
On Sunday at 2pm, Auckland-based Green Party MP Keith Locke and Act New Zealand Leader Rodney Hide will be co-hosting a public meeting at the Aotea Centre. The meeting will enable a diverse range of Aucklanders from all walks of life to discuss and demonstrate why there are better options than the waterfront stadium for Auckland, and the nation. .
The meeting will be chaired by television personality Oliver Driver, with speakers from the business, arts, ratepayer, hospitality. urban design and sporting sectors, and Auckland musician Steve Abel will also be performing.
"We are entering the last few days of the rushed and inadequate process that the Government has imposed on the city. Rodney and I are very concerned about the way the stadium proposal is being rammed through, and our meeting will help Aucklanders to hear and share just what the waterfront stadium means for them and their community," Mr Locke says.
"I'm pleased to join Keith in co-hosting this meeting, where Aucklanders from across the political spectrum can come and voice their concerns about the great white whale which is being proposed for the waterfront. " Mr Hide says.
