Cullen reveals election repayments can be tracked
Michael Cullen has revealed that repayments by political parties of money improperly spent on election advertising will be passed from Parliamentary Service to Treasury, says National Finance spokesman John Key.
“This means that such payments will appear as revenue in Treasury’s books.
“Treasury is subject to the Official Information Act and National can also ask parliamentary questions. We will be doing so regularly to track the progress parties are making in paying it back.”
