Progressive Party Tells Progressive Enterprises To Act Progressively
Progressive Party Deputy Leader Matt Robson said today that if Progressive Enterprises were truly progressive they would
end the lock-out of their employees and in good faith bargain with them to provide a decent living wage.
“The era of individual contracts and low wages is over “said Matt Robson. “ Progressive Enterprises can turn a good
profit without keeping their staff on wages that don’t allow them to support their families”.
“The move by the wider trade union movement to support the Progressive workers with financial help and other forms of
solidarity is welcome. Extending that to help from Australian unionists is surely a clear sign to the management that
bullying tactics won’t work on either side of the Tasman”.
“New Zealand workers will soon have, by legislation introduced by the Progressive Party, what the Australian employees
of Progressive have had for many years - four weeks annual leave. New Zealand workers now want to match their Australian
counterparts and have a decent, fair dinkum living wage from Progressive Enterprises. The Progressive Party supports
them in that aim “, said Matt Robson.
