Macek re-appointed to NZ accounting standards body
Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel today announced the re-appointment of Charles Macek as the Australian member of the New
Zealand Accounting Standards Review Board (ASRB) from 11 September 2006 through to 10 December 2007. This aligns with
Charles Macek’s term as Chair of the Australian Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
“Cross-membership between the FRC and the ASRB assists in creating a seamless trans-Tasman business environment by
establishing a single set of trans-Tasman accounting standards and also enhances the scope for New Zealand and Australia
to influence the development of international accounting standards,” Lianne Dalziel said.
The Chair of the ASRB, Warwick Hunt, is a member of the FRC.
Charles Macek
Charles Macek is the Chair of the Australian Financial Reporting Council and a member of the Trans-Tasman Accounting
Standards Advisory Group. He is a company director with more than 30 years experience in financial services including
insurance, stockbroking, investment management and commercial banking in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the
United States and Japan. He has held senior positions and directorships in a range of Australian public companies.
