Report Confirms NZ First Export Policy Prudent
New Zealand First MP Doug Woolerton has welcomed the findings of a report by the New Zealand Institute which promotes New Zealand First’s trade policies.
The report suggests policies such as tax abatement schemes for exporters are precisely the type required to provide much needed incentives for New Zealand businesses to expand into overseas markets.
“New Zealand First has long promoted a tax abatement scheme that would reduce the tax rate on new export net profit to ensure that exporting opportunities and innovation were not lost,” said Mr Woolerton.
“As part of our Confidence and Supply Agreement with Labour, 2007 has been designated ‘Export Year’ and we have an undertaking that measures to significantly grow our export sector will be a priority for the current government.
“We look forward to working further with the Government in the lead up to 2007, and hope that they will take some of our export policies on board in the process,” said Mr Woolerton.
