Maori Party Congratulates Karen Sewell on Appointment as Education Chief Executive

The Maori Party is delighted to congratulate Karen Sewell for her appointment as Chief Executive and Secretary for Education, Ministry of Education.
“Karen and I attended Whanganui Girls College together, many years ago” said Tariana Turia, Co-leader, Maori Party. “I was reflecting today, how even then, her brilliant ability and genuine compassion distinguished her as a leader”.
“She has devoted over thirty years of dedicated commitment across all spheres of educational influence” said Mrs Turia.
“Karen manages to combine the capacity to demonstrate vision with the wisdom that comes with experience. I am confident she will do all she can, to ensure that all New Zealanders will come to benefit from enhanced educational opportunities and outcomes”.
