Waitangi Tribunal Appointments
The Minister of Māori Affairs, Hon Parekura Horomia has today announced the appointment of Peter Brown and Sir Paul Reeves to the Waitangi Tribunal, each for a term of three years.
Peter Brown holds a number of qualifications including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Law and Master of Business Administration. He has been involved with many social development areas including employment, youth at risk, family care and protection and integrating social justice and ecological perspectives, primarily in East Coast, Eastern Bay of Plenty and Te Urewera regions.
Sir Paul Reeves is a former Governor General of New Zealand. He has an understanding of ethical, cultural and spiritual issues. His experience of Government decision-making at the highest levels will be an invaluable asset to the Tribunal.
