Climate Change Initiative Positive
New Zealand First energy spokesperson Peter Brown has welcomed the government’s initiative in identifying potential problems and putting up possible solutions on climate change.
“I am pleased the Minister will be consulting with the public and various groups before final policy decisions are reached.
"We need to face the challenges and put more effort into assessing the impacts and preparing for a changing climate. A basic requirement of our energy objectives continues to be the need for security of supply, a competitive pricing system and environmental responsibility.
“It is important that the government looks at a balanced approach which ensures New Zealand plays a constructive role in the global response to climate change but not ahead of the major nations and certainly not at the expense of jobs and growth,” said Mr Brown.
