Another PR disaster for civil defence
National Party Civil Defence spokesman John Carter is cringing on behalf of hard-working regional civil defence bosses,
after what appears to be another botch-up at the Ministry.
“On the same morning they issue media statements promoting the launch their new preparedness web-site
‘www.getthru.govt.nz’, it crashes.
“People attempting to use the site this morning are being bounced to a domain name register page. The information on
that page has nothing to do with civil defence.
“After the recent disaster in handling the tsunami emergency, the public could have been forgiven for assuming that the
Minister would be trying very hard to get it right. Who will Rick Barker blame this time?”
