Increases in numbers of doctors and nurses

Published: Mon 22 May 2006 01:48 PM
On National Radio this morning Pete Hodgson said that growth in numbers of nurses and doctors has exceeded growth in management/admin staff. These are the figures: 5,225 more doctors and nurses; 1,794 more Admin/Management.
When asked by Sean Plunket if National agreed that there had been faster growth in the number of doctors and nurses and if National had asked the Minister for those figures, Hon Tony Ryall said: "Yes we have and he hasn't given us that information yet."
A check today of Written Parliamentary Questions has so far not turned up any requests from Tony Ryall on the increases in the numbers of doctors and nurses.
