Appointment of Judge of the Court of Appeal
High Court Judge Ellen France has been appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal, Attorney-General, Dr Michael Cullen announced today.
Justice France graduated from Auckland University in 1981 and completed her Masters at Queen’s University in Ontario in 1983. Justice France also completed a Senior Managers in Government Course at the JFK Business School, Harvard University.
Throughout her career, Justice France has specialised in public law, working initially for the Department of Justice and then Crown Law Office. In 1998, Justice France was appointed Deputy Solicitor-General (Public Law).
Justice France was appointed a High Court Judge in 2002.
