New police commissioner welcomed
National’s Law & Order spokesman, Simon Power, welcomes the appointment of Howard Broad as the new Commissioner of Police.
“Mr Broad has the credentials to do a very fine job.
“I also welcome the appointment of Rob Pope as his deputy.
“These are two very experienced officers who have a great opportunity to give the Police a much-needed new beginning.
“Their big task will be regaining the public’s confidence in the Police. It is vital that this happens and I look forward to watching them achieve it.”
