Minister urges caution on coverage of Putaruru students
Education Minister Steve Maharey is reinforcing the Ministry of Education's message to media not to publish further stories about Putaruru students.
"Despite the clear risks to the safety of young people, outlined by the Ministry of Education, some media organisations have continued to cover this story.
"I want to emphasise just how high the risks are in this particular situation.
"As Minister of Education, I want to be on record requesting that any editorial decisions about this story are made by people who are fully aware of the possible consequences of ongoing publicity."
