United Future backs debate on youth wage rates
The United Future caucus decided today to support Green MP Sue Bradford's Member's Bill on abolishing youth wage rates as far as sending it to a select committee for further public debate.
United Future leader Peter Dunne said, "Support beyond that stage is still to be decided but we think the issue is important enough to warrant a wide-ranging public debate.
"There are strong arguments on both sides of this debate and the select committee is a good place to tease them out to ensure any resulting policy is sound and robust," he said.
