Doing Better At Doing Business

The World Bank survey ranking New Zealand 1st in the world for doing business will come as a surprise to Kiwi entrepreneurs struggling under high tax and hefty compliance costs, says ACT leader Rodney Hide.
"New Zealand needs smaller, smarter government - not one that sees business at the root of every problem.
"There are five things Labour could do to make it even easier to do business: lower the company tax rate, pass simpler and fairer employment law, reduce compliance costs, let businesses choose their own accident insurance provider and overhaul the Resource Management Act.
"That would be a Christmas package to give small businesses, and all New Zealanders, a prosperous new year," Rodney Hide said.
