Inquiry into the 2005 general election
The Justice and Electoral Committee has resolved to hold an inquiry into the 2005 general election. By convention, the relevant select committee conducts such an inquiry after each general election.
The committee has decided to set broad terms of reference for the inquiry, so that the public feel able to raise any issues of concern. The terms of reference are "to examine the law and administrative procedures for the conduct of parliamentary elections in light of the 2005 general election."
The committee is inviting public submissions on the inquiry. Submissions close on 17 March 2006.
