Release of Police report into David Benson-Pope
Earlier this week the police offered Mr Benson-Pope an opportunity to make submissions with regard to personal information held in a report into historical allegations against him, prior to the report's release under the Official Information Act.
Mr Benson-Pope received a copy of that police report for the first time on the morning of Wednesday, 30 November 2005.
The police gave Mr Benson-Pope until 10am today [Friday, 02 December 2005], to make any such submissions to them.
Mr Benson-Pope today met that deadline.
The advice he has received back from the police is that they will give his submission "careful consideration" and that they will attend to this matter "as promptly as they can".
The timing of the release of the report is in the hands of the police.
