Labour gives paedophiles licence to prowl
Labour's incompetence gives paedophiles licence to prowl, says National’s Law and Order spokesman Tony Ryall.
He is commenting on reports today that dangerous paedophiles are being freed into the community unsupervised while court
delays undermine laws designed to keep children safe.
"The shambles in the courts is putting our children at risk. National has been warning the Government for two years that
the chaotic state of administration in the nation’s courts is allowing criminals to re-offend,” says Mr Ryall.
"Three young boys in Christchurch fell victim to Barry Allen Ryder because of inadequate supervision. And now even more
children may be at risk.
"New Zealand needs a Minister of Justice who is competent enough to do the job, not one distracted by foreign jaunts.
"What's needed is a huge shake-up in court administration, including better management,” says Mr Ryall.
