Key wants sick pay, but its your sick pay he wants
John Key is adding injury to insult with his admission that he wants to 'review' sick pay says Cabinet Minister Pete Hodgson.
"First National insulted workers by announcing that it would stop subsidised Doctor's visits for those of working age and break up ACC. Now John Key has added injury to that by saying he wants to "review" people getting a day's pay when they are sick, said Pete Hodgson.
Key confirmed his intention to single out sick pay in a review of the Employment Relations Act in a meeting in Oamaru on Friday.
"So not only will workers be forced to pay more to go to the Doctor than they would with Labour, they will have the money to pay for the visits taken away from them by having a day's sick pay stopped.
"Is there no end to ways in which National will make people pay for tax cuts?"
