ACT Leader Rodney Hide has renewed his call for Labour and National to rule out dealing with Winston Peters
post-election at the party's anti-racism public rally in Auckland today.
ACT MP Kenneth Wang and ACT candidate Hardev Brar also attended the rally at the Mt Albert Memorial Hall.
"Peters has time and again proven himself to be a racist xenophobe who will do and say anything to ruthlessly chase
votes," Mr Hide said.
"I'm disappointed that neither Helen Clark or Don Brash has taken the opportunity to rule out a place for NZ First in
coalition government.
"Both should condemn Peters' racist politics and rule out dealing with him. He only has power because National and
Labour aren't prepared to cut him adrift.
"ACT stands four-square against racial privilege and racism in all its forms. We oppose Peters' politics of racial
hatred and division."
Mr Hide also warned that tax cuts would be off the agenda if National needs Peters to form the next government.
"Hardworking Kiwis can kiss goodbye to tax cuts if National deals with NZ First. Peters has rejected National's tax
package, labelling it 'unworkable', 'irresponsible' and 'not credible'.
"The only way for New Zealanders to stop Peters holding the balance of power and ensure tax cuts are delivered is to
give their Party Vote to ACT this Saturday," Mr Hide said.
