Meanwhile, National Front endorses NZ First
Yesterday, a failed Social Credit candidate now with the Auckland employers group tried to hoodwink us into believing a Peters-Brash coalition would be good for small business!

Today, the Manawatu Standard reported that the National Front (you know the clowns, they yearn for death camps and Permanent War and talk about ‘white rights’) is endorsing Winston First Party. That story is likely to be in every paper tomorrow morning. http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/manawatustandard/0,2106,3396463a6003,00.html
54 Progressive candidates on the campaign trail
With the exception of Wigram, where Jim Anderton is campaigning to increase his majority against Labour and National rivals, Progressive's other 53 candidates including myself are campaigning for party votes only. Regional media are covering the election fairly and giving space to all candidates which means our democracy is much richer than in First Past The Post countries.
And our candidates are having great fun outlining what progressive means. Wellington Central candidate David Somerset, for example, stole the show at a candidates' meeting last night by all accounts. Even National’s campaign manager judged him the best on the night: www.kiwiblog.co.nz/archives/cat_wellington_central.html
Progressive roll of honour
A reporter trying to influence what goes into robson-on-politics brought to my attention that the anti-liberal ACT party's website has almost no details about a majority of its candidates. The ACT list is a bit like the Algerian or Egyptian governing parties' lists of anonymous names with no faces! I have said I'd talk about some of the great characters campaigning for Progressive Party Votes, so I'll pick three randomly this week!
In Maungakiekie, we have a good man, barrister Sione Fonua. Unlike the leaders of the Four-Headed Opposition, here is a man that actually knows what running a small business involves! Pro-small business with a social conscience, that's Progressive Sione!

Tomorrow, Auckland candidates will be promoting our housing policy to further assist modest- income families into their first homes, building on our coalition initiatives
We want this doctor in the House
In Christchurch Central, local IT company operations director Dr Megan Woods is campaigning for Progressive Party Votes. We want this doctor in the House.
She has already been elected on to her local Community Board, and Megan knows the Progressive policy to cut the headline company tax rate to match Australia, would be welcomed by many employers resulting in more jobs.

Russell Caldwell - Mr Economic Development
Russell, campaigning for Progressive Party Votes in Te Tai Tonga, is sometimes referred to simply as "MBA" but really a better nickname would be "Mr Economic Development." One day Russell will be called to Parliament to serve the nation.

Progressive prescription for better health
Campaigning can be physically demanding so I personally take a lot of comfort out of the fact Progressive has a very large number of health professionals on our List. On Tuesday, the doctors, nurses and I headed down Queen Street to distribute our party's prescription for lowering barriers to healthcare services.

Small business Vs Monopoly Capital
Small businesses' borrowing costs would skyrocket under a National-led government. National is threatening to increase the government's overseas borrowings. That is the way they would give unsustainably large income tax cuts for high income earners. But that will hike up the debt-servicing costs for small business owner, people who will miss out under National. Progressive is your pro-growth insurance.
