Greens + Labour = Gridlock
National Party Deputy Leader Gerry Brownlee says Helen Clark’s decision to campaign with the Greens in Auckland tomorrow sends a chilling message to the road users of New Zealand.
“The Greens’ just-released Transport Policy calls for a freeze on the recently announced road spending increases, with all the money diverted away from fixing the roads.
“The public must also remember that transport policy is what Labour trades with the Greens for their support.
“For instance, the Greens played a significant role in the nightmare that is the Land Transport Management Act, which restricts public private partnerships and stops roads from being built.
“It’s an easy equation for road users to remember. The Greens plus Labour equals gridlock,” says Mr Brownlee.
