National hits at Transit’s Gully process
National’s Transport spokesman, Maurice Williamson, says National is angry that Transit New Zealand has taken a unilateral stance on Transmission Gully before the proper process has been completed.
He is commenting on a report today that Transit has officially ditched Transmission Gully, north of Wellington, in favour of a coastal highway upgrade.
“All interested stakeholders are currently involved in determining the best solution to Wellington’s transport needs.
“National’s policy is to allow that process to reach its final conclusions and then ensure funding for the preferred option is available.”
