Primary Production Committee not at fault, says Ewen-Street
A report in The Independent this morning misrepresents what was said about the scampi inquiry in Parliament yesterday, Green MP Ian Ewen-Street says.
In his valedictory speech, Mr Ewen-Street outlined his views on the outcome of the Primary Production Committee's 2003-04 inquiry into the scampi fishery.
"As is obvious from the Hansard, I in no way suggested that the Committee itself perpetrated any fraud or injustice," Mr Ewen-Street says.
"I apologise to members of the Committee for any offence this morning's inaccurate report may have caused and I have called on The Independent to retract that part of their article."
