Brash admits he's out of the loop
Senior Minister Steve Maharey said today he was stunned to hear a comment from Don Brash that National would 'campaign on its policies' when National's leader admitted just yesterday that he wasn't involved in the detail of policy making and hadn't really thought about how National would run fiscal policy in its first term.
Rod Oram told National Radio yesterday that he had asked Don Brash how National related their core economic philosophies to their campaign promises and to how they would run fiscal policy in a first term.
Dr Brash replied:
'I haven't really thought about that. I'm not really involved in the detail of policy making.'
"The reasons for the confusion surrounding every National Party policy are becoming clear," Steve Maharey said. "Their own leader doesn't know how their core policies could be put into practice."
Steve Maharey said that in contrast Labour has established a six year record of saying what it will do and delivering on its commitments.
