Appointment of High Court Judge
Attorney-General Michael Cullen announced today the appointment of Associate Judge Graham Laurie Lang as a Judge of the High Court.
Justice Lang was appointed an Associate Judge (Master as it was then known) of the High Court in 2002.
Prior to that Justice Lang had been Crown Solicitor at Napier since 1995.
Justice Lang graduated from Otago University and initially joined the firm of Robinson Toomey in Napier. He later became a partner in Elvidge and Partners.
He was awarded the Clearly Memorial Prize by the New Zealand Law Society in 1981. He is the co-author of Brookers “Fisheries Law in New Zealand”.
