The Social Report 2005 is nothing more than expensive, feel-good Labour Party propaganda, ACT Deputy Leader and Welfare Spokesman Dr Muriel Newman said today.
"This report doesn't provide an accurate description of New Zealand society in 2005 - how can it when most of the data it contains is drawn from statistics that only extend to 2000.
"Why is it that Labour can't or won't provide the number of children under 15 years of age who have been murdered as a result of abuse since it came to office.
"Instead, this report contains data that is five years out of date.
"This report is clearly just Labour Party election-year window dressing," Dr Newman said.
