Allegations Of Incitement Stupid And Unacceptable: Peters
New Zealand First leader Rt Hon Winston Peters today condemned suggestions from some quarters that attacks made on mosques in Auckland over the weekend somehow had something to do with the New Zealand First party.
“The New Zealand First party finds attacks on places of worship totally repugnant, and our members are deeply insulted by the inference that we could condone or in some way be responsible for such mindless activities.
“Those responsible should hang their heads in shame for using this time of great sadness to attempt to score cheap political points by resorting to gutter politics.
“New Zealand First has never advocated the use of violence and terror, and anyone who attempts to infer that our views on immigration suggest we support such activities is clearly ignorant of the facts,” said Mr Peters.
