New Zealand First to take up Cricket Briefing
New Zealand First welcomes the offer by the Government to brief political parties on the Zimbabwe cricket tour situation.
Hon Brian Donnelly, the New Zealand First spokesperson on Sport, said today, “that whilst the Government appeared to have considered a number of options, there may well be others that might be considered and the opportunity to hear first hand of what initiatives, have been considered to date, will be taken up by New Zealand First”, he confirmed.
“A growing number of New Zealanders are expressing their concern over the tour and this offer by the Government augers well for finding an enduring outcome”, Mr Donnelly said
“This preparedness to obtain the details first, contrasts with the actions of the National party who have come out with extremely brash comments, which if implemented could cost New Zealand taxpayers millions, without being in receipt of any of the facts”, concluded Mr Donnelly.
