Brash launches education postcard campaign
National Party Leader Don Brash today launched a postcard campaign outlining key aspects of his party’s education policy
– choice, standards and excellence.
Dr Brash says the choice in education is clear.
“National’s top priority is the education of our children. We are not interested in the teacher unions, internal
politicking or politically correct ideas about failure and what should be taught.
“National will end Labour’s legacy of low expectations and restore confidence and standards in the public education
system. Expanding parental choice is essential to this.
“Too many of our young people are falling behind. Improving basic literacy and numeracy should be a national mission,
and under National it will be,” says Dr Brash.
The launch of the postcards, which will be sent to households around the country over the next week, coincides with the
announcement of the party’s schools policy by spokesman Bill English this morning.
