Fitzsimons and Shirley debate nuclear-free NZ this Thursday
Green Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons will debate New Zealand's nuclear-free status with ACT's Ken Shirley at a meeting on Lambton Quay in Wellington this Thursday.
The event has been prompted by the drawing of Mr Shirley's 'NZ Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control (Nuclear Propulsion Reform) Amendment Bill' from the member's ballot earlier this month. The Bill seeks to legalise visits by nuclear-propelled vessels to New Zealand ports.
