Unions using fees for partisan political campaigns
National's Industrial Relations spokesman, Wayne Mapp, says union members should be told their fees are going towards partisan political campaigns.
"The CTU and PSA are now blatantly campaigning for Labour," says Dr Mapp.
"They are basically branch officers of the Labour Party.
"They are paying for radio and newspaper advertisements, and their own publications are full of party political propaganda.
"The reality is that union membership fees are very likely being used as part of Labour's political campaign.
"The question needs to be asked: do these campaigns have the full support of all the union members?
"Union bosses are removing the choice of union members as to political affiliation, and ruining any credibility the unions have left in the process," says Dr Mapp.
