Labour Adheres To NZ First Immigration Policy Again
New Zealand First Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters is urging the government to adopt the rest of New Zealand First’s
immigration policy instead of doing it in such a piecemeal way.
Since 2002 Labour has introduced tougher English tests for migrants, changes to the skilled migrant category, stricter
health requirements, established an undesirables category, put a stop to foreign nationals processing visa applications,
will be regulating immigration advisers, and has now announced changes to the investor category, to name just a few.
“It is ironic that on the one hand the Government continuously labels New Zealand First xenophobic and racist and yet on
the other is plagarising our Immigration policy”, said Mr Peters.
“New Zealand First is tired of the Government evading questions in the house while relying on New Zealand First to do
its research and policy work.
“They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but in this case it is the sincerest form of necessity”, said
Mr Peters.
