Digital Strategy Launch - Webcast Details
The launch of The Digital Strategy at 2.30pm at Parliament today will be streamed live to www.r2.co.nz/20050516 with the help of Citylink. The Digital Strategy is the government's action plan for ensuring all New Zealanders benefit from information and communications technology (ICT).
Significant new funding to deliver the Strategy will be included in this week's Budget and announced at the launch.
The Digital Strategy - Creating our Digital Future will be launched by Minister for Information Technology David Cunliffe. He will be joined by Economic, Industry and Regional Development Minister Jim Anderton, Minister Responsible for the National Library and Archives New Zealand Marian Hobbs and Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector and Small Business Rick Barker.
The launch will include a videoconference with Christchurch Deputy Mayor Carole Evans, Hughan Ross of technology company ARANZ and two teachers from Waltham Primary School, a decile 2 school in South Christchurch. Together they will illustrate what the Digital Strategy means for communities, businesses and schools.
