National Party Leader Don Brash says the latest selective leaks around the Doonegate affair have the "trademark Helen
Clark feel about them".
"Helen Clark has already been caught out repeatedly seeding false information to a national newspaper." Dr Brash is
responding to a one-line quote which appears in the Christchurch Press today.
"Helen Clark must release all the notes and transcripts so the public can see the full story. So far she has refused
repeated calls in Parliament to do so. Selective leaks only serve to erode her credibility further.
"There is clearly conflicting information with the High Court briefs she signed only a month ago, which confirms she
spoke to the Sunday-Star Times five times over the Doone affair.
"At one stage she was quoted as giving 'no comment' even though she was the source of information. She also admits
saying 'you're not wrong' when asked to confirm aspects of the case," says Dr Brash.
"The public must be asking themselves whether this latest selective leak has come from the same 'formidable machine'
that Labour insider John Tamihere referred to."
