More Kiwis feeling ‘overtaxed’
“A growing number of New Zealanders think they’re paying too much tax,” says National Party Finance spokesman John Key.
He is referring to a poll in tomorrow’s National Business Review newspaper which suggests there has been a substantial increase in the number of Kiwis who think the amount of tax they pay is too high.
“More New Zealanders think the amount of tax they pay is unfair, while the proportion who think they’re getting a fair deal is decreasing.
“Labour is squandering record surpluses on a series of election bribes, using the money siphoned from the pockets of hardworking New Zealanders in a blatant bid to stay in power.
“They have wasted millions upon millions of dollars on reckless, low quality pet projects while even refusing to amend tax brackets to account for inflation.
“It’s now clear that most working New Zealanders want lower taxes and higher wages. National will deliver on both counts,” says Mr Key.
